PL7201/2 (WT7755)  


The PL7201/2 (WT7755) is a high accuracy fault tolerant electrical energy measurement IC intended for use with two-wire distribution systems. The PL7201/2 is designed to support IEC62053 international standard for energy-metering purpose. The PL7201/2 includes two delta-sigma ADC with PGA in current channel for a wide range of I currents and small shunt (<200u Ohms) meter designs. It supplies higher frequency output proportional to instantaneous power on CF pin and frequency output proportional to the average active real power on F1 and F2 pins. The power calculation is performed by fixed-function DSP which is designed in digital domain to provide superior stability and high accuracy measuring results in various extreme environmental conditions and over time. The PL7201/2 includes a power supply monitoring circuit on the AVDD supply pin. The PL7201/2 remains in a reset condition until the supply voltage on AVDD reaches 4 V. If the supply falls below 4 V, the PL7201/2 also gets reset and no pulses is issued on F1, F2, and CF. Two internal phase compensation circuitry ensures that the voltage and current channels are phase matched and phase compensated when the HPF function is on. An internal no-load threshold ensures that the PL7201/2 does not exhibit any creep when there is no load.
